This is great for the producers of barrels. It is a good way to burn up your barrels very quickly. The barrels produced for the military are quite a bit different than Civilian barrels.

I'm going to need a cite for this. Not sure how much different a mil spec barrel made for the civilian market is than a mil spec barrel made for the military is.

I'm a bit upset my M16 did not offer this option.
My AR isn't a high $$ brand so it probably doesn't offer this either. :-(

The button sets off an Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) that kills all electronics within a one mile radius. Anyone with electronic optics and no BUIS is immediately disabled and cannot hit the broad side of a barn. Requires having BUIS and deploying them before pressing the button. That's why it has concentric circles . . . representing the electromagnetic waves radiating outward.
