The Steel Challenge Match is ON for Saturday the 19th at Atlanta Conservation Club. ACC WEBSITE HERE.
Atlanta Conservation Club is affiliated with the Steel Challenge Shooters Association (SCSA), who put on the World Speed Shooting Championship in Piru, California (and other venues). Our matches ARE sanctioned, and you will need to become an SCSA member in order to be classified.
Saturday's weather :: HOT - - Partly Sunny - high temperature about 86º.
In case of any rogue thunderstorms :: LIGHTNING will delay the match. SHELTER IN YOUR VEHICLE.
POLICY AT ACC: THE ACC MEMBERSHIP VOTED AND CLEARLY STATED THAT LATE REGISTRATION AT MATCHES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED FOR ANY REASON. MISSING ANY PART OF THE SHOOTER'S MEETING IS CONSIDERED A BREECH OF SAFETY, (DISQUALIFYING YOU FROM THE MATCH). THEREFORE, BE PUNCTUAL.
THIS TAKES CARE OF ITSELF AT STEEL MATCHES, BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS CLOSED SIGN-IN BEFORE STARTING THE SHOOTER SAFETY BRIEFINGS.
The clubhouse may be closed. Check-in and cash payments will be outdoors near the “Annex” (shed).

On match days, ACC IS A COLD RANGE. DO NOT "GUN-UP" IN, OR AT, YOUR CAR --- USE THE SAFE AREAS, PREFERABLY WITH AN R.O., OR JUST WAIT UNTIL THE FIRST STAGE.
You can load magazines anywhere EXCEPT THE SAFE AREAS. DO NOT remove your gun from its box or bag until you are on the line, ready to compete. (Or you are at one of the SAFE AREAS, with an R.O. :: For example - if you need to clean something.)
Stages to be fired:
Bay 1 -- OUTER LIMITS (SCSA)
Bay 2 -- SHOWDOWN (SCSA)
Bay 3 -- SMOKE & HOPE (SCSA)
Bay 4 -- PLATE RACK or OTHER (NON-SCSA)
Bay 6 -- 5 TO GO (SCSA)
(The July match will have the other 4 SCSA stages)
Bring 200+ rounds of ammo per entry - - - (Minimum round count = 125 rounds).
5 (or more) magazines / speed loaders / moon clips will make your day a lot easier.
GUN OF THE MONTH :: SS (Single Stack). ( Just a suggestion - - you don't have to enter this Division. It is a, "Hey - Let's all shoot our . . . guns this month!!" kind of idea.)
SCSA Divisions are:
PROD = Production; Double action and “Safe action”. All GLOCKs, Beretta 92, SIG 229, 226 . . .
CO = Carry Optic; (Essentially Production, but with an Optic red-dot installed).
LTD = Limited; Single action 1911’s with IRON sights, no compensators. Springfield XDs.
SS = Single Stack; Essentially Limited, but with recognition for having only 9+1 rounds available).
ISR = Iron Sight Revolver, IRON sights. NO MAGNUM CALIBERS.
OSR = Open Sight Revolver, OPTIC sights allowed. NO MAGNUM CALIBERS.
Open; Anything goes (semi-automatic).
PCCI = Carbine; CF PISTOL calibers, IRON sights. NO MAGNUM CALIBERS.
PCCO = Carbine; CF PISTOL calibers, OPTIC sights allowed. NO MAGNUM CALIBERS.
RFPI = RimFire Pistol Iron; .22LR, IRON sights. Pistol.
RFPO = RimFire Pistol Open; .22LR, OPTIC sights allowed. Pistol.
RFRI = RimFire Rifle Iron; .22LR, IRON sights. Rifle.
RFRO = RimFire Rifle Open; .22LR, OPTIC sights allowed. Rifle.
