I want to resist the temptation to add tons of accessories to it. I think I'd rather just get the most reliable platform I can and keep it simple.
Magpul MOE furniture is perfect for this while allowing for accessories to be added at the same time.

Supr.....
You just need to give in and do what I did.
Get two AR's. Trick one out. Leave one plain vanilla.
I did that with the Mini 14 and AK platforms too.
Now I'm satisfied that I have played the game and won.
Well Pdubs... I'm out for the night... Day one kicked my butt, and I'm looking forward to DR 201
Although I know its capable of it to a certain extent, my opinion has always been that the AR platform was never intended to be a long range weapon. I'd like to have one that's short, simple and ultra reliable. If/when I get one, I want get proficient with it in its most basic form without relying on optics or accessories. Its just something I've always wanted to do, plus in any kind of survival or SHTF situation that lasts any length of time, those accessories add weight and additional points of possible failure.
Where have you been? There's been fights on all day long!wow great fights tonight.
To be honest I couldn't do any of that until the kids were grown, and out on their own.I have 2 problems with that plan.
First one is simple...
The second one is the fact that I'd probably play with the one that has all the toys on it a lot more and I'd defeat my purpose of honing my skills with the basic weapon. Either that or I'd have to force myself to have some dang discipline...screw that.
You could borrow mine Supr! It has an Eotec but it is co-witnessed with open sites in front and a pop up one in the rear! so if something goes wrong with the optics you can still use the iron sites!!
It's a colt H Bar national match lower with a Willson combat M-4 SMG Upper!
Nice looking setup there HandK
Great weapon you have there Gary! I'd love to try it out sometime. As far as training goes, as I mentioned earlier, it just doesn't make sense to me to put money and time into training with a weapon I don't own. I'm sure I'd still learn a lot, I just think I'd get more out of it if it was my own weapon.
Thanks Supr! makes sense, but just wanted you to know if wanted to run a class with one it was available to you!
