Watching a show on the Military Channel about the history of the SEALs. The guy is talking about one of the first suppressors, called the Hushpuppy, used in Vietnam. He says "We wanted it to silence dogs and ducks (as they entered a village in the early hours), so they called it the Hushpuppy because they couldn't call it the 'Hushduck'".
Also, the show keeps Foley-ing in the Hollywood sound of a suppressor (that sounds like a laser pistol), instead of the ACTUAL sound, which is annoying. I want to hear how they sound compared to the modern ones I've shot.
