My brother-in-law worked at a lab in Germany right after the reunification. The team consisted of former East and West Germans. One side had always filed chronological files with the most recent dates near the front, the other had always done it the opposite way. There was always someone who reorganize the files to suit the system they had used previously.
He said that he never knew what order the files would be in when he came to work in the morning.
