We might even sell the house....good time to sell if you can.
My wife was mentioning this to me and I had to remind her that we would also need to buy something else. LOL! Houses are selling like hot cakes, but my wife is one of those who like to take a long time to decide and these days you can't do that. I'm excited for you all though!

The Bayonet is wicked long and pretty scary.

From what I see that looks like an 1873 trapdoor 45-70. The 1866 that preceded it was chambered in 50-70 and had thicker barrel bands giving the rifle a "chunkier" look. It should shoot very well with the right ammo if the bore is in good condition. You have to be careful as 45-70 is loaded all over the map.

Carried by American troops up to the Spanish American war and by the Constabulary in the Philippine insurrection, many were bought and resold after the war by Francis Bannerman. Clean it up well, and keep it oily, get the strong glasses out and look for marks, there some history there and it's fun to chase it down.

Bannerman? Is that the same Bannerman that owned the Bannerman Castle on the Hudson River?

I'd like to show you the 97BD that I picked up. I put a 13# hammer spring in it and it's like butter. I'm planning on having the wizard put the pro kit in it next year, but boy it's been shot a lot.
