That looks about perfect for everyday kitchen knives. Here's the one I use, recommended by a YT celeb who's videos I watch a lot:

Personally, I like them and find them a very easy way to sharpen knives. They make a big difference. Are they as good as doing it yourself manually? Nope, but they're a lot quicker and personally I hate sharpening knives manually. YMMV.
If you have really expensive high end knives, sharpen them manually.

Thanks!
Most of our kitchen knives are cheap knives that have collected over the years with a few "better" larger knives. You're quite welcome. I have an old set of Chicago Cutlery that my 1st wife had bought that I'd pretty much stopped using due to how dull they were. A few swipes on that device and I'm using them on a daily basis again. I even have a bit higher end knife that I use this on and it works pretty well. Not as well as the by hand sharpening my stepson does for his knives, but it takes much less time and effort, not to mention it's cheaper than the stones and oil he uses.
I have been using the same ceramic V-rod type sharpeners for decades in the kitchen. A few strokes frequently will keep them in top shape. Here are a couple of examples...
No
Ain't no guessing what you really mean.

I constantly have to service our kitchen knives as nobody understands how to actually use and care for them. We have a set of wood handle Chicago cutlery that CKW loves to use but they get abused so much. Knicks in the blades and the tip is missing from her favorite one. She has no idea how this happens. I say stop throwing them in the sink and dish washer. Use/clean by hand and restore to the holder. The holder is long gone so those knives are loose in a utensil drawer (:nailbite) and replaced by a very nice set of knives with a very nice holder that seem to get the same treatment. Most of our kitchen knives are cheap knives that have collected over the years with a few "better" larger knives.
Mrs. mcapo gets "upset" as it takes me about five years to get around to sharpening them by hand. Maybe with that Smith's, I'll can get that down to five months.

or she can sharpen them.....
The best of steel and wood from the times. Very nice!I have some of the Bofors stamped guns, part of an estate sale from back in the 70s. I liked the engraving on the floor plate and the details in the stock. Ended up keeping instead of selling them, they rarely see the outside of the safe.
Yep. Even our few "good" knives are tossed around in the knife drawer.I constantly have to service our kitchen knives as nobody understands how to actually use and care for them. I gave up trying.
I have the P94 rimfire with enough parts to make it a sporter or a bench gun, a Quad with a Lilja .22 lr bbl, an old .222 from the '60's, and the new S20. I wish I'd bought the action I was offered in the late 70's and built a rifle on it too. Too soon old and too late smart on that one.Sako, a good bolt gun, have some older ones.
