I was always an EOtech guy until I decided to try them all. I absolutely despise ACOGs. LPVO works great for my 16". The simple dot sights work better for my intended purpose on the shorties. Wishing I didn't sell the VORTEX magnifier to a guy at work (after I sold EO to Das Mowse). I want one behind my Romeo on the 10.5

GM all. The sun is shining for a change
Not to speak for him, but I thought 88 recently got a magnifier and wasn't digging it too much. Perhaps you guys could work something out if that's still the case and if I am at all remembering correctly.

I’m getting used to it. If I end up with something else, one of my sons will probably claim it. The oldest is wanting one right now

I've not used one of the EOtech brand. (+$!). Love the vortex ones. I've been keeping my good eye on Alan's page for one discounted.

They do take some time to become accustomed to. Once I got the hang I was hitting at 100+ much more consistent in a respectable time and less rounds.

Have you looked at the Holosun HS510C or HS512C? They're both more affordable than Eotech, better than Vortex and use the same circle of death style reticle, or you can use just the dot.

510 runs around $310 usually, but I've seen plenty of coupons/discounts for less. The 512 runs around $360.

I was referring to branded magnifiers. But also no, I haven't tried a single Holosun red dot. I hear decent things.

FWIW, I'll have a Burris 3x magnifier and a Vortex Viper 1-4x24 (discontinued model) at the FGE for low prices.

I wanted to remove the rear sling swivel on an AR-15 A2 stock but the butt plate screw threads into it.

So, I cut one off, shaped and blued it this morning.

Whew ..... the electricity has finally returned. We were one of 48 homes on the southside of Indy that lost power when a huge tree took-out a huge power pole.

Because so few of us were affected, I guess that they weren't in a big hurry to get it repaired. I went through about $40 worth of gas in the generator .... keeping the two sump pumps in the basement doing what they needed to do with the heavy rains.

Not much sleep ! Dragging .... and much to do. Much to do because the FGE looms large !

    8 days, 6 Hours, 49 Minutes !!! :rockwoot:
