If a 10 round mag capacity and the AWB pass, yeah...you'd be wrong there.

We're talking about executive orders here, specifically the ones that were signed. Besides, there is no way that will pass congress.

All the executives orders sound like a great plan to me, although I have yet to read the actual text. As for his urging on what congress should do, we all already knew that was the way he felt. All in all, I am extremely happy with the outcome, but I'm sure that will **** some of you off. Good thing I don't care.

    well said.

Finds if funny how a newbie is trolling here. Second post in this thread and both trolling. Oh and you noticed no one paid you a bit of attention. Again I'm not commenting on anything other then you being a troll.

Joined just as the election crap was heating up last year.
    It's a tactic they've used for years.

Once again, there is absolutely no new gun control legislation being passed. Speculation and tinfoil hattery is abound. But no actual legislation that infringes any more so upon my rights or those of others.
Oh ok... you are correct, nothing is happening... nothing to see here, look away....

Did you listen to what he said? He is trying to manipulate through fear. If you voted for him, fine, but don't give me that everything is a-okay. Should we just try and keep our mouths shut if we are being treated as members of fringe society?

Think back to England in 1997 when they passed their wide sweeping gun control where handguns were banned. It did nothing to reduce the murder rate and many gun owners had the same attitude thinking that it won't happen here, not in England with all of the gun history we have.

You should view this as the opening move, not the endgame.

    Very true.

Overall he has made a very conservative first move. He knew not to ruffle too many feathers. Most of the EOs are hot air and not much different than existing laws.

The real fight is yet to come in congress.

Biden was in charge, not some young and up and coming Democrat. That should have been the first clue that nothing major would happen. The Dems should be grooming their 2016 now but instead just used this issue to remove Biden from the race.

Do you think the gun grabbing nut jobs are going to be happy about this?

They still do want all guns banned but they can't do it by EO. They know this. That is why Obama kept telling Congress to do something and still is.

This is something I have been wondering, how does any of this make the schools safer?

In all honesty, most of it won't. However, I think we can all agree that there may be SOME impact on school safety from having more resource officers, (if indeed that EO actually does anything,) and from improved mental healthcare.

I like how he said the NRA is funding congressmen's campaigns so they vote no to gun control. Well of course they are! That's how you got YOUR campaign funded (not NRA of course, but other organizations). People pay for their politician of choice so the laws THEY want have a voice. I just felt he is trying to paint gun owners as evil people who want death and destruction (as if this should be a shock). I'm just hoping by him signing these EOs, he is washing his hands from this subject so he can put all the blame on congress if no bans pass. Asking them to do their part, as if he did his.

After going through the list over and over, I come to #6 Publish a letter to all Federal Licensed Dealers how to run the background checks.
I have just gone through this when I applied for my FFL, prior to getting my license I had a 3-4 hour interview/ education on all ATF regulations and background checks. to me that is just hot air and if people are not following the ATF regulations now what makes you think a letter is going to change anything?

He is stating his beliefs. There is no need to manipulate through fear, because according to a lot of people on here he can already do anything he wants and is a dictator/socialist/king/monarch/whathaveyou. And for your information, I did not vote for him. PLEASE do not keep your mouths shut. Our voices need to be heard. But they need to be articulated well and not about how certain people think he is trying to instill a monarchy. That's ridiculous.

England's right to bear arms was not enumerated through their constitution. It can happen here, but there will most definitely be civil war over it if it does. However, I don't feel that it will happen. Despite what many of you think, Obama is not some crazed dictator bent on world domination. He is a man that was placed in a position of power because of the society that we live in. He is using that position of power in the best way he sees fit, and to pass legislation that he truly believes will do good for this country.

The same way they think banning/restricting firearms for responsible citizens will magically take weapons out of the hands of criminals.

I mean if it's law, they have to follow it, right?
