Im going to be picking up a new shotgun sometime fairly soon (first of the year ish). Im wanting a tactical shot gun in 12 ga. and have seen the Mossberg 930 and like it but i wanted to know what other options are out there. Also any experience you guys have had with them. The 930 is about the top of what i want to spend but less is better as always.

Less is NOT always better. Get the 930spx. It's a great gun.

I have never been a Mossberg fanboy, but after getting some time behind the stock of a 930 SPX I am really impressed.

There are nicer auto loading shotguns - but I would argue that none of them fall in that price range.

I have a 500 and a 590A1. I like the safety on the top for left handedness. You can tactical them all up if you want; many aftermarket options available. 8+1 in a pump is virtuous :)

How about a semi-auto? I am interested in one of those. The Mossberg JM Pro seems to float to the top of my list. It would be used for multi-gun mostly.

that would be nice but 2k is way out of the budget. and im sure its an absolutely a great gun that runs great and it looks awesome......BUT....i just cant justify spending 4 times what the mossberg cost for a gun that looks ALMOST identical and the Mossberg functions just fine as well (i have shot one of those). I would like to stay below $700 is really where i want to be.

savage has a 12 gauge w/pistol grip stock and 20" barrel for 170. looks to me like a winchester 1200. imo cant go wrong with the standard 870 leos have carried them for years.

I forgot to add in there i already have a pump gun....wanting to pick up a semi auto is most definatly a requirement.

I prefer a good pump gun as well, but he's only looking for semi's.
