It looks like the description of these matches are not posted yet with the exception of the Cold War Match. Has anyone been to their previous matches, specifically the military rifle and pistol, D-day, Doomsday, and/or Sniper match. Those sound promising, I would love to hear from anyone who has been to one.

I'm working on getting at least general descritpions of all the matches up relatively soon. There should be specific descriptions at least a month before each match, hopefully sooner.

The military rifle and pistol match has been done a couple of different ways in the past, both as a semi-tactical shoot-and-move match, or as a CMP/Highpower style 30-round course (10 slow prone, 10 rapid sitting, 10 slow standing) with the pistol stage a bullseye style course.

The D-Day Match is a shoot-and-move match on steel and paper targets with WWII era rifles.

The Doomsday Match is a lot of fun, lots of targets, moving from position to position, transition from rifle to pistol and back again, usually with a ridiculous post-apocalyptic theme.

For the Sniper match I think it will be shooting at pretty small targets from various improvised positions and maybe a couple of different distances.

It should be a fun year.

The Doomsday Assault Course has been the Superbowl of our shooting season since 2004. It will test you and your equipment in scenerios like the aftermath of Katrina 2005, breaking out of the UN re-education camp in 2006, Bug out drill in 2007, Zombie attack 2008, and a collatteral damage theme in 2009. Like last year, there will be food and beverages available free of charge to participants.
