I was looking at that Matriarch, but then a picture of the Civilian popped up. Is the Civilian made that much better?

They both have VG10 steel, and are both made in Japan. Those are the main differences I can find. The Civilian is a larger version with different handle material. Because of the G10 it'll also have more of a frame/liner than the Matriarch 2. The Matriarch 2 does have a skeletonized steel liner though.

Civilian looks to be about $100 more expensive too.
