I'd like the rest of the story...

Not clear what the course specifically was, but generally there is more than one section of organic chemistry. OChem is difficult, but is also a pretty standard curriculum. It's very likely that NYU's chemistry department had a common syllabus for all of the sections. That this one professor produced abnormally skewed results could be an indicator of something more than student deficiency. And at 84, it's probably time to step aside to give other perspectives.

I've had a similar experience with a professor who was simply a **** poor teacher. He knew the material, but producing lectures and then examinations that corresponded to the curriculum was beyond his ability. Lectures were an hour of anecdotal ramblings and his final exam looked like a MadLib exercise where all context was missing.

84 years old and the problem is the students.

Sidenote: your future doctors are going to be nurse practitioners. The smart future doctors have changed majors and are going into business.

In England, they're going into retail.

    Oh, and there's this.

Remember, your next doctor may have only gotten into med school by crybullying his professors out of a job because he was too dumb to pass their class.

Only? Probably cheated his way through medical school and residency too.

Weird how only this one class by this one professor at this one school proves people are dumbasses. Best to blame all the individual students rather than the one common denominator.

And colleges NEVER hang on to people simply because of tenure and that they have been there for fifty years. We all know education jobs are purely merit based.

Sorry, i'm just sick of the ********.
