I've decided to do a weight and photo comparison.

    Sig Sauer P938
    Smith & Wesson M&P Sheild 9mm
    Springfield XDs

Lets start with weight. Weighed both with and without a mag of ammo. Extended grip and standard grip, minus the P938 which was only the x-grip.

Thanks for gathering the data on a few of my favorite pistols. I own a Shield, but still want an XDs. Is that weird?

This picture is cool enough to bear repeating.

I can't decide between the shield or XDs. I'm a huge M&P fan...M&P9c is my EDC and I have M&P pro for nightstand gun and fun at the range. But I'm really liking the XDs....45ACP in the same size as the shield

Thanks, for taking the time to do all of that. I've been interested in the shield since it came out but I've got to wait for all the hype to die down before I buy one.

S&W needs to come out with a 45 version of the shield. I don't think the xds would be as popular if they did. I really like my xds though. It shoots great! I have to put a few more rounds down the pipe before I carry it though.

This helps me out a lot an also makes my decision harder too lol. I'm looking for a good pocket gun for work so I'm needing something super concealable. Thanks!

I ended up selling the p938 after having it repaired by Sig. The Sheild 9mm is my Fiancés and he hasn't carried it since he bought his XDs. No negative reason, he's just fond of the 45acp round. He carries the XDs with the extended magazine daily. I carried my XDs for the winter/cold weather months and have since put Talon grips on it. That improved the feel of it greatly for me. I recently switched over to my Bersa BP9CC for the warmer months. I purchased it after selling the Sig. Both springfields, M&P and Bersa have been flawless. The Sig was the only one that gave me issues. I purchased it when it first came out though...beta tester lol. My favorite is the Bersa. It's insanely accurate, reliable and thin for my girly hands. My Fiancé would say his fav is the XDs.
