The police not showing up is definitely normal right now.

We had 2 different incidents were the security in the building that I work in called the police and they never showed up.
The first was a man off the street wondered in the building who was told to leave but he refused.
The other instance was a man in a drug induced psychosis who kept trying to break into cars. After he was unsuccessful getting into empty vehicles, he try to get into occupied vehicles. He literally tried to open the door to my backseat and get into my car with me. And I wasn’t the only person he did that to!

This happened a couple months ago…police still haven’t showed up.
i had that happen at 25th & hillside.

idiot grabbed my doorhandle and i drove off. dragged his @** about a block with him screaming "stop the car!"

i told him let go of the door, stupid.

I try not to go any more west than 9th st. And I stay away from streets that have double digits or have the word “hill” in the name! They are just bad news from what I see on the news.

    Near the big river.
In the late 90's I worked off of Dumesniul. Bullet holes in the side of the building , double steel entry doors and a gated parking lot. Worked 3rd shift too. Never had any problem but think it was more luck than anything else. Hated that job, 12 hour shifts 7 days a week.

I live about 15 minutes west of Louisville and I hate having to go there. If I need to go to KY to visit family (in Henry county), I prefer to take the east end bridge and not stop. I'll stay on the sunny side for as long as possible, thank you very much.

I worked in Louisville for more than 15 years. One day I was walking down the sidewalk and a homeless man on a bike rode up to me, slid on the back tire, looked at me and said, "I am going on a beer run, are you in or what?"

I gave him a couple bucks for the novelty...

I was outside of the McDonalds that was at Cosair's smoking a cigarette before my test and a guy came up to me and told a story of how he was out of town with his kid in the hospital and yadda yadda... He went on & on... how he needed money to buy some food. I offered to take him inside the McD's and buy 2 of everything on the menu... He replied: "Well, I was really lookin' to get some fried chicken" so I told him: "Then go bum out in front of the KFC!" he stomped off.

The homeless also. Several times a day I am asked for money. The good in me always feels bad saying no. But then again, I’m struggling too. If someone asks me for food or a drink I will usually do that but I can count on one hand how many times that has happened in the last 5 years. It’s always money.
Realize a lot of people asking for money are not homeless. I saw a lot of that in Chicago. Some of them make a lot of money begging.

The truly homeless people usually didn't do a lot of begging period, and won't pass up food if offered.

We had to convoy to ft knock through Louisville once. A "bum" with homeless vet sign asking for change got pelted by every truck. He made some money but I am sure he regretted it too.
