I don't care about bluing it afterwards. I'll spray some high temp engine paint on it and poof it's done. The free float rail will cover it and you'll never see it

I wonder what the difference between high-temp engine paint vs. stove/BBQ paint would be? Anyone know?

Usually not much maybe a degree or to or enamel or ceramic. Just like there is header paint and hi temp caliber paint. I've used 93 cent can of black on a catalytic converter. Those things stay hot and the paint never burned off.
