    I'm no long gun expert by any means, but I do like the looks of the new Mossberg MVP models that were shown off at SHOT. I personally like the tactical or version I'm linking below. Found it online at about $700 already and it's not even really available yet so hopefully it gets lower.

    Seems like it could be a fun handy rifle in 308? There may be better options but I like having the actual sights as an option. Good to have choices I guess!

    They are a superb rifle. They take AR mags as well. I passed on one to buy my Model 700 Stainless, but have the MVP next on my list. I want one in .223/5.56.

    Considering they haven't yet made any of the 300BLK MVP they announce TWO YEARS ago at SHOT, and then their email guy Santa (no, really!) has repeatedly lied about their availability ("they have been sent to distributors!" yet no one has seen one in the wild yet), Mossberg can suck it as far as I am concerned.
