S & W date of mfg.

I was wondering if any of you fellow INGO S&W fans have the book that gives the approximate date of manufacture? I have a 39-2 and I was wondering how old it was and the barrel says 9MM. I'm assuming that means 9MM Luger. I can provide S/N.A230xxx. Any help would be appreciated. I don' have any experience on these.

The "book" is the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson. You do have the 9mm (Luger) model. Go ahead and post the Serial number someone will chime in.

1973 to 1974 is A175001 to A235000. Your serial number seems to fall in the center of that range.
