Ruger GP100. Rattle

Just bought a ruger gp100 and when I got home and fondled it more I notice there’s a rattle in the receiver. It’s not the cylinder the trigger and hammer are tight but I can def her something metal rattling in there. Louder front to back then side to side. I can’t currently test fire it at my house but I can see the fire pin coming forward.

Any ideas?

Firing pin/spring broken? If you have some empty brass mark the primer with a sharpie or something and fire it with the EMPTY round and see if you can see firing pin mark???
BTW I am not a gunsmith

Transfer bar probably

Could it be the transfer bar rattling? I don't own a Ruger revolver but assume the bar is free to move some when not cocked.

I can hold the bar with a pencil eraser and it removes 95% of the rattle noise. Sadly don’t have any spent brass to on.

You will hear some rattle from the transfer bar and you will also hear some rattle from the ejector rod. The ejector rod sits somewhat loose in the crane. It is normal.

My GP-100 bought back in the late 1980s rattled too.

Clearly, it's a sad example of the junk Ruger is producing nowadays. I'll give you twenty bucks for it so I can use it for a door stop.
