16.5" medium/light contour barrel with quarter rib for scope mounting in EER/scout position. Standard Ruger 77 integral receiver scope mounts are present as well.
Includes factory picattiny rail that will attach to quarter rib if one so desires.
Practical/Scout rifles need iron sights - This one now has a Marbles front ramp and fiber optic sight and a New England Custom Gun(NECG) rear apeture sight that attaches to the rear receiver scope mount position. NECG spare apeture and instructions included.
A Leupold 2x matte finish Scout Scope is currently mounted and sighted in the factory Ruger rings. Box and instructions, etc. available.
It shoots a mild .308 load of 43.5g of Varget under a 168g Nosler C/C with boring regularity into 1.5" or less at 100 yards at 2400 fps, 45.0g of the same will get you into the mid 2500 fps range. With the Scout scope removed and a 2-7x Leupold installed it shoots right at 1" with the same loads.
Round count 200 or less. Metal and wood are pristine. This one hasn't been hunted at all.
Many folks have done M14 magazine conversions on these, doesn't appear that it takes much to do - there are even Youtube videos on it. DBM's on bolt guns isn't my thing - but it may be yours.
