What's the possibility safely using your steel with rifles?

    What I have-3/8" 10 and 12" Rounds and Squares AR500

Calber I'd be shooting-.308, 30-06, 30-30 and .223/5.56; the ammo is FMJ and HP along with some SP thrown in. All ammo is traditional with lead or polymer tip but I am curios about using the steel core 5.56 I have.

Range-I'd probably start at 100 yards and go out.

How well should I expect these plates to hold up? Any problem usng them at 100 yards and a. 30 cal at 2800fps muzzle velocity? These will hang with a slight downward angle (5degrees or so) and will be able to swing since being suspended by chains.

We recommend keeping it under 3200 fps at 100 yds. More than likely you will be able to get closer if you want, but start there and work in as you feel comfortable with the wear.

Steel core will leave a more noticeable mark than lead core, so just know the lifespan of the target will be shorter when using them.
