This might be a pretty interesting movie that could be worthwhile supporting. Check out the Trailer

Remnants: Now Starting Phase 2 by Paul Hilburger — Kickstarter

The producer is attempting to raise $5,000 by Jan 26th to avoid having to accept financial backing from a film studio. Accepting this type of backing would lead to a compromise in the integrity and independence of the movie; in effect, watering it down.

You can make a pledge for as little as $10. A $25 pledge will get you listed in the credits at the end of the movie, and a DVD of the movie itself. If you make a pledge, your credit card will not be charged unless they meet their goal of $5,000. If they do not meet their goal, you will not be charged. It's an all or nothing deal.

BTW, Mods, I debated on whether or not this should go in the Survival & Disaster Preparedness section but I think this goes beyond just that category.

Relying on plot and characters rather than explosions? Yeah, that's not typical Hollywood.

    Looks interesting.

    I know...a real shocker :)

Looks like a modern 'Red Dawn' scenario though the plot and focus is quite a bit different. It seems to paint a portrait of what things might be like and what it will take to overcome them: self-determination.

Let's bring this thread back from the dead.

The Remnants movie was completed this week and is now ready for distribution. A new trailer was completed and launched to mark the occasion.

If you look closely, that awesome mini-van at 25 seconds has Indiana tags. One of those Security contractors in the scene might just be a local boy... ;)

Cool! The guy playing the President was in the remake of The Crazies a couple of years ago. And kudos for getting Tom Sizemore to play such a front and center role. When he's not completely drug addled, he's a gifted actor. This should be good.

    Any word on distribution deals?

Supposedly, the executive producer, Travis Fox (great guy and an ARFCOMER) says we should be able to have this movie in our homes before Christmas.

Word is that Tom Sizemore is clean. I wasn't part of any scenes with him but the buzz was that he had really delivered some great scenes. He was such a fan of the project that he signed on as a producer as well.

And yes, the actor who played the president was a good guy. He was very friendly.
