I remember the caliber being an issue. It couldn't be a military caliber. The choice for frame could have been due to another issue. I can't find anything on this.

I have owned a few of the 17L’s. I am always on the lookout for Gen 1 to go with my Gen 1 17.

I believe the three were 9x21.

I was guessing on the frame size, based on 380.
You're probably right on caliber.

I stumbled on one on an auction site a while back. I think it was for around $33,000, but again, I can't remember.
