    I just purchased a 300 black out 16 inch upper and it has a stock looking military 7 inch hand guard with a low profile gas block with rail and was wanting to replace it with a free float hand guar. question is do I have to use a 7 inch or do the ten inch fit over the gas block and what is the best hand guards to use Thanks for the help:ingo:

    As long as the gas black is a low profile gas black, you shouldn't have a problem with as long a hand guard as you want. As far as what hand guard to use, are you wanting lightweight? Or something with rails to hang lots of stuff on? Price range?

    Your going to need a low profile gas block if you want to go longer than carbine length. I'd recommend getting a Troy, they seem to fit inside of everything. As far as rails go, lots of different options. Troy also makes several rails that are pretty user friendly to install because they mount off of your existing barrel nut and do not require specialty tools.
