Beretta 92FS. It was cheap (~500) and works well.

Only thing I don't like about it so far is the trigger is a little stiff and not smooth and lack of night sights.

Anyone know someone that could address the trigger pull for me?

Langdon Tactical Technology. Their @trigger job in a bag” is amazing and it’s what is on my 92 now. Pretty easy install, or you can send it to them for the work. Worth every penny for the lighter pull and short reset.

Just bought 2 new Beretta APX full size yesterday. 4.25" barrel came with 2 17+1 mags & I bought real Beretta 21rd mags for $25ea. These were designed for the military contract which FN got. I got 1 for $349 & 1 for $314 with a 10% discount. I have ALS so many pistols I can't rack easy anymore but these have serrations the full length. Good trigger but for $15 I can get it down to 3#. These are modular with the firering mechanism serialized so I can change anything on it but will lighten the trigger & that's all. Elastic back brace holsters work well. I like CZ 75s P10Cs Taurus PT92s Taurus 454 Casull Raging Bulls Ruger 44 Mags. I have a NAA 22lr 1.125 barrel, laser & folding grip & Orig Charter Arms Bullgog Pug 44 spec revolver I've carried bith for 30+ years. The best deal going is the KelTec P17, comes with 3 16 rd mags eats anything, comes with a supressor adapter & has the best trigger I've found & is small enough to carry in most any pocket, retails for $199.

Please post a range report of the APX when you get a chance! As a Beretta fan boy I’m curious about this gun.

Also I think Beretta fan boy might also sometimes mean glutton for punishment LOL

Lots of choices. Best thing you do is get your hands on as many candidates as possible see which one fits your hand the best. Then buy it if available.

    Pretty much Michigan.
Something readily available and expendable. With enough practice you can be good with anything, but in the event you actually need it, your going to lose it and you will likely never see it again.

Someone here has a P365XL grip frame combined with a P365 slide. That looks like a good setup to me.

    Glock 27 -
.40 wouldn't be my first choice today, but it's what I've got now. I bought it having no clue about anything .40 v 9mm. It took me a long time and full sized magazines with grip extenders to shoot it well, but I can manage it at SD ranges.

    Sometimes I'll carry a S&W 360 snub, because I'm a sucker for a snubbie.

Buy something that has size variants with the same controls then dress for the occasion. I carry a PX4 subcompact, compact, and full size depending on the occasion. Having all the controls the same can really matter when it matters.

I'll have to find it again. I did it so long ago, but here is a spring replacement or you can cut 2 or 3 coils off the trigger spring, I think from a 92 compact to lighten up the trigger pull. 10$ spring. Found it on berettaforum
