Winchester 1894s in 32 WS, one of my favorite cast bullet cartridges. Top is a take down model, something popular in the past, but not much seen today. It allowed you to take the barrel off the receiver for easier transportation. Middle is a cut down deer rifle, probably somebody's idea for lower carry weight, it started life as an 32-40. Bottom is an SRC with a tang sight. All these rifles shoot the RCBS 170 grain gas check bullet sized .323 very well with a good charge of 3031.

Spectacular stock on that take down!

John Browning's last lever gun design, the Winchester 1895, was his follow up to the changing rifle cartridge. Bullet designs were becoming more pointed to help shooting at longer ranges and had lost their place in the tube feed magazine so long a part of the lever gun. These two, a rifle and SRC configuration are chambered in 30-40, the military cartridge of their era although the 1895 would go on to be chambered for the 30-06.

Ordered a couple hundred rounds of 32-20 today at .48cents a round. That’s the cheapest I’ve ever found it. It’s supposedly “blemished” ammo.

I got my 1st Mule deer in Colorado with my grandfather's model 94 30 30 1976 bicentennial rifle. It was a really nice rifle i was surprised my grandfather allowed me to use it. It was a thrill. My uncle has it now. I've not seen one since. Are they rare?

Iirc it had a medallion in the stock and the number 76 on the receiver.

I found 3 currently for sale on GunBroker. All 3 appear to be basically new in the box, with all the paperwork. Happy bidding! :D

Beautiful spring day to check the backyard for outlaws and scoundrels. I’ve backed off shooting the past couple weeks, but it was to nice not to.

Love your Winchester saddle ring. I want one sooooo bad. I have a beautiful 1942 and 1962 model 94. They are not saddle rings though. I have my eye on a saddle ring that is a post 64 and is in very, very good condition.I would say 96%. Guy said he would take $775.00 for it. Is that a fair price for a post 64 saddle ring in 30-30?

My dad and I have 2 pre 64 model 94s in 30-30. 1 is a long forearm and 1 a short. We don't shoot them ever but they are fun guns to have around. I prefer my lever actions in pistol calibers.

I'm a noob to this "old gun" stuff. I picked up a 1937 Model 12 in 16 gauge last year. It's pretty beat but man I wish it could talk.

Aw man, someone put a poly choke on a solid ribbed barrel again. Nice gun tho.

It can easily be made to look brand new if you ever decide to to go that way...

I love the way it looks. It will stay as is.
My guess is the wood has been changed because it's in a lot better shape than the rest of the gun. I'm just going to look at it and shoot it when I get a chance. And a sweet shooter it is. It's the first 16 gauge I've ever shot too. I really like it.

16's are a sweet bunny gun. People who totted a 12 for years love them when the try them.

The only thing holding them back is the variety of shot available.

Interesting point; do you know how you can tell the first year issue Model 12 in 12 or 16 gauge?

The linear grooves on the top of receiver are convex rather than concave. Little known fact for what it is worth...

A saddle ring carbine can hold 11 rounds in the magazine, plus one in the pipe of 32-20. Fired 12 rounds off at the steel tonight when I got home. :woot:

    happy Friday!

Loaded up the 1873 tonight. 14 plus one for the rifle length 32-20. Nothing sounds like an 1873 with that brass lifter. Love it.
