Purchased this 2-year old Chevy Avalanche LTZ 4x4 a few days ago to replace my Toyota Tundra. Needed something with good towing ability for our travel trailer.

So far I love it. It's got leather, navigation, sunroof and lots of other fun things. It's also has a big enough back seat for three car seats (which we'll need soon) and has a DVD system to keep kids happy.

One really neat feature is that it has two lockable storage boxes on the side of the bed (above wheel) that are perfect for storing a couple things that go bang :D

Here are some crappy cell phone pics I took today:

    Nice truck...

A word of warning for you...

My buddy had one and we took the window out to open up the bed once and it leaked all the time after that. Whenever he went through a car wash we would call it the "Waterfall" instead of Avalanche.

If you never take it out you will never have a problem....

And it so happens that he was about 2 months out of warranty when we took it out.

I've taken the window and panels off the bed twice and have washed it after at an automated car wash. No leaks, at least yet. I will keep an eye out for that, though. I heard it was a problem in older Avalanches.

    What year was your buddy's?

Nice rig. Does it have the OEM exhaust, aftermarket, or is that just a tip?

Looks nice. the towing ability is one of the few areas my jeep unlimited is really lacking (only 3,500 lbs :( )

It's just an exhaust tip right now. Dual exhausts will be added someday.

It can tow a little under 8,000 pounds. It's got an autoride rear suspension that automatically adjusts the height to normal even when towing loads. With my 6,000 pound+ travel trailer there is no dip at all in the back.
