New M&P Owner Question

I've got the full FSS and trigger on my 9 & 45 and I love it. It's as close to a 1911 as you can get.

Installation isn't that bad. I did both of mine myself and will be doing it again on my 40.

About a year or so ago we went to get my wife a gun. Here hand was too small to get a good grip on my Glocks, and we didn't want to pay for a Sig, so we were looking at M&Ps. I dry fired one at the shop and the trigger reset was so bad we went with an XDM. This gun was going to be for protection, and I felt a little nervous about changing the trigger. I envisioned sitting in a civil court room explaining to the jury why I modified the gun my wife had just used to defend herself. Am I worrying too much?

Yep, you're worrying too much.
I'm not a lawyer, but I cannot imagine that whether or not a trigger was a stock factory trigger could have any bearing in a self defense case.
"Oh, he changed the trigger, so it must have been premeditated murder!"
Can't really see that happening.
