The trouble is this is only the beginning. Between now and the end of the year they'll take more gun rights away. The hope is that the House will flip to a Republican majority in November to at least be a roadblock to Bitchmer.

It won't help. Hell, from 2011-2018 Republicans had the Governor's office and both houses, and absolutely nothing got accomplished. Michigan has always treated the 2A as a privilege rather than a right. Must inform, gun registration, signs carry force of law, can't carry in a church, hospital, bar, or anywhere with seating capacity over 2500. Illegal to have a BAC of .02 while carrying. And the list goes on. Republicans had 7 years to make positive changes, and nothing happened because the Republicans in Michigan hate freedom just as much as the Democrats. In Michigan, you are a subject, not a citizen, and none of the politicians want to change that.

I can't disagree with anything you have said, and I really don't have any faith that if and that's a big if the Republicans ever control all three branches in Lansing anything will be rolled back. But I feel if just one of those branches fell under Republican control some things would be held in check. That doesn't just apply the 2A issues.

The article stated that some of the measures had bipartisan support, so Republican control won’t help. It is always the republicans edging towards the left, you never see democrats edging to the right.
