My Grandson had an accident in his 2008 Chevy Silverado LT work truck. The truck slide into a concrete block and broke the drivers side rear axle off. Appears the whole diff is bent also. Any of you guys mechanics and know where I could get a used (Drum to Drum) diff for his truck? His is a 3.23 ratio with no active brake control. I know its a shot in the dark but it don't hurt to ask.

    Thanks

I found an axle on Craigslist from a truck in a field the guy was parting out. Replaced the whole assembly because it was way cheaper than replacing the bearings in the pinion.

With that much damage you might want to buy a complete truck with a bad motor or trans so you can get everything else you might need like new shackles and springs etc.
