Pretty much all of Laura Branigan's albums. Heard Gloria on the radio and was hooked. Other than her cover of "the name game" I can't think of any solo song she did that I won't stop to listen to. One of my big regrets was never going to see her perform live when I could. She pretty much retired to take care of her terminally ill husband in the 90s, but was making a comeback in the early 2000s. She was playing a lot of clubs around NY, until she died in her sleep in 2004. That girl could sing!
    She could sing for sure.

Although after being in St Louis when the Blues won the Stanley Cup, I don't need to ever hear Gloria again.

What is 'Play Gloria' and how did it become a St. Louis Blues rallying cry?

It was really something. You couldn't go ANYWHERE in that city where that song wasn't playing.

    • Steppenwolf - Steppenwolf 7 - Nov. 1970
    • Spirit -12 Dream of Dr. Sardonicus - 1970
    • R.E.O. Speedwagon - T.W.O. - Dec, 1972
    • Midnight Oil - Diesel & Dust - Aug 1987
    • Concrete Blonde - Free - May, 1989
    • Indigo Girls - Indigo Girls - Feb, 1989
    • Counting Crows - August & Everything After - Sep, 1993
    • Doyle Bramhall I - Bird's-nest On The Ground - 1994
    • Garbage - Garbage - Aug, 1995
    • PJ Harvey - Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea - Oct, 2000
    • Kristen Black - Kristen Black - 2002
    • Green Day - American Idiot - Sep, 2004
    • Johnette Napolitano - Scarred - May, 2007
    • The Kills - Blood Pressures - Apr, 2011

And a few from this century.

Not bad for someone released in 1954. :)

I personally don't care for either group, so not real familiar with their "albums".

As far as the Beatles go, I always preferred the Animals and Stones and later The Who.

Different music appeals to different people. Also different people have different standards for what is a "great" song. It is a good thing the thread title doesn't say everybody has to agree - 'cause that ain't gonna happen.

Though most of Bruce's songs are good, I haven't found an album that I like all the way through. Am pretty fond of Life Short, Call Now.
True. There are a couple of songs I'm indifferent to. But none so bad that I choose to skip the song. Also, the Anything, Anytime, Anywhere is a greatest hits which is kinda cheating since the best songs were plucked from other albums and stuck together on one album.

How about Grass Roots, Gerry and the Pacemakers, James Taylor? There is just too much to pick from.
