I inherited a double action only revolver quite a few years ago now. There wasn't a plan to shoot it because I'm not sure of the caliber and the barrel looks slightly bent. I took it out to reorganize my safe and started looking it over. The only marking I could find was the word 'Spain' on the side. It is interesting to me though because it has a top break action. (I'm not a revolver guy and not sure if that's the right term.)

Does anyone have insight on what this might be?

Europe made a lot of knock offs of the S&W top break revolvers from around the turn of the last century. Caliber is probably either 32 or 38 S&W, but I would probably refrain from shooting it.

Spanish steel and construction was marginal when new let alone years of deterioration. Turn it in at a gun buy back, get money for nothing, make libs feel good about themselves.

Depending on caliber the ammo would cost more than the value of the gun.

Spanish guns are like the girl with a curl, they 'can' make good guns but often choose to toss any ol crap out the door.

From the single picture I would guess it to be a copy of a .32 S&W top break Double Action third model.

Some of these have internals just like S&W and others get a bit creative.

US Pistol Company made the exact same thing with the 'creative' internals.

A real S&W 3rd model DA in that condition would bring about $75, what you have would be less.
