Basic Mosins are going for around $130-$150 from retailers now. In a second hand sale prices should be a bit lower.

Where are you finding this low? It looks like the market it about $200 to your door. Gander Mtn has them for 199, while online retailers have them for less, but once you factor in the Shipping and FFL fee you are back to the 2 bills. If I could find them in the $130 range I would literally by two of them this weekend.

I'm with Avec. You can't get one at a dealer for this price. A run of the mill refurb will probably be listed between $159-179. The hex reviewers will be at the top end of that range. Throw in tax and you're close to $200.

Yote. If it's from a private seller and it's not a rare model, than $150 would probably be as high as you should offer.

I purchased mine at a Dunhams for $150, not sure what their prices are now.

A friend of mine just bought a hex tula from ITP (Indy Trading Post) for $180, with their standard receivers running $150-$160, I can't fully remember.

Thx guys that gives me a ball park price... Its from a private sale not a dealer/ store... I believe it has everything but the ammo bags that they use to sell with them years ago, but I believe there is no ammo that comes with it ? There are/was a couple in the classifieds here I just seen them and I think one has already sold, but they both had some ammo that come with them...

There is a crate of 91/30s on the showroom floor of Freedom Firearms in the Fort. $189, includes oil can and bayonet. No idea of the quality.

Indy Trading Post has the 91/30 for $159.99. The have about twenty out. All of them look to be mid-war (1942-43) Izhevsks. Most, but not all were number matching. I found a nice example with non-forced numbers matching, including the bayonet.

Why are the hex receivers at the higher end of the price spectrum?

They were the earlier, pre-war models that are both more rare and considered both finer examples and more accurate based on tighter manufacturing controls.
