I just got an email from an address that I do not recognize. It said Soros just shut down Marlin. I had heard about New England/ H&R, but this is the first time I saw Marlin mentioned. Their website is still operational. Can anyone confirm?

Probably wouldn't matter if they did close the doors as everything I have heard has been horrible since the buyout. If it doesn't say JM on it I am not interested.

China can keep the ****ty Winchester while we are at it.

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping the email was wrong. A model 39 was one of my first and there is a 30-30 and a 45-70 in the mix. I still kind of like them.

Check Snopes. It's an old BS story. For those who say Marlin sucks I own the 795 (22 LR) and I like it better than the Ruger 10/22.

I don't know how the newer stuff is, but I have a model 60 22LR I've had since childhood that would be on my short list of firearms I'd never buy/sell/trade. Every time I pull the trigger it goes bang, and places the projectile where intended.
