I did that with an AK, but when the hand guards caught fire I just threw it in the creek. it was fine after that.

I tried to do it with a Maddi AK, damn thing wouldnt catch fire.

Just the inner hand guards started smoldering. Never had any flames. The sling melted off. had to hold it by the drum and pistol grip. Bore was spotless.

thats literally, I counted about 32-33 mags of 30rds so almost a case of . 223 not to shabby

I was going to venture that this testing was part of a manufacture or government test of the weapon. Looks like you've confirmed that.

Beta C mags hold 100 rounds. I used to have a couple Chinese 120rd drums but they were problematic.

How is the SOCOM barrel immune to overheating??? Every barrel overheats after prolonged full-auto use. I know I've heard stories of red-hot M2 barrels in WWII.
