Does anyone have a reference of what a good price for one is? I've found two, one for $1,000 and one for $850. The 1K one is in excellent condition, with only a few nicks and bruises on the stock and has M1 Garand style peep sights. The 850 one has a few more marks than the 1K does but it has sights more along the lines of a Mauser.

    Are those "good" prices?

Numbers matching fetch a higher price than non-matching ones. Some one should be able to tell you which manufacturer are more desirable and what not. I have a Remington and Smith- Corona 03-A3. They range in price depending on make and condition from $500-$1200

I didn't check the numbers since my cousin and I stopped at the store on the way home from moving stuff out of his dorm and we just wanted to get home. Next time I go up there I'll check that, though admittedly it will probably be a while.

I picked up my WWI-era M1903 for 895. For some reason it seems to me like 03A3s often command somewhat higher prices than that, perhaps because WWII rifles are more attractive to collectors than Great War ones.

Here is a relatively short video that goes over the basic differences between the M1930 and the 03A3:

I agree with this price range. There are so many variables affecting value, one would have to see the actual rifle to give an accurate valuation. The vast majority of A3's out there were rearsenaled post war and thus towards the lower end of this price range. Rifles that were not rearsenaled, are in good condition, and predominately 'correct' hover around the middle of this range. Typically only rifles in or near unissued condition ever bring prices on the high side.

well the 850 dollar rifle was not a 1903 it was a 1917 Winchester, the smith corona i think is 03a3, the Springfield 1903 was 2000 bucks- i think it was in 30-03 though.

I have two in the shop, one a consignment at $830 and the other a shop gun at $800...Both went back to the arsenal but one was just stamped (nothing else done, may have been a garrison rifle) and the other was parked, barrel replaced etc....They have both been on the wall about a month and are still here so I would say around $800 as there have been more than a few, "Man I wish I had $800 'cause I would take that home," for me to have not lowered the price.

    IMHO opinion ofcourse.
