    I knew going in when I purchased my M&P I would be doing the Apex trigger for it. My question is, can someone please tell me why https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid54.html is listed as recommended for competition only? From my understanding, it provides the parts to allow you a 4-5.5lb trigger pull, as well as around a 2-3lb trigger, but I would definitely not go that route. I'm basically looking for the better trigger (I like the Glock safety better) and a better trigger pull / reset. What am I missing here?

    I'm not 100% on the answer, but I'm thinking you may want to look at the DCAEK:

    https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid35.html

    in combination with the AEK trigger:

    https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid60.html

    instead?

    Someone with more knowledge will be by shortly to provide more info I'm sure.

    It appears that they have a polymer version of the AEK trigger in the works as well.

    I just ordered the RAM and had it installed in my M&P9C in order to get some tactile/audible reset of the trigger (more like a Glock), but I have not fully investigated the other parts as yet.

    For carry, the DCAEK kit is much more appropriate. The only difference between the Comp-AEK and the DCAEK are the sear and trigger springs.

    DCAEK = 4-5 lbs of pull https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid35.html
    C-AEK = 2-3 lbs of pull https://apextactical.com/store/product-info.php?pid36.html

    I use the DCAEK (and RAM) in my 9c and love it. I've also used the Comp-AEK in a 9 Pro and didn't like it as much. The pre-travel was too light for my taste. It just felt a little funny, and I wasn't any more accurate with it than I am with the DCAEK.

    I'm not sure I'd recommend the AEK trigger (not to be confused with the AEK kits mentioned above) for carry, because it can take some tweaking of the trigger spring to get it to function correctly. I'm just not sure I'd trust it without extensive testing.

    ETA: the FSS kit that you linked to has a very short pre-travel and light trigger pull. It is definitely a competition only kit.

    Thanks for the responses! I was primarily looking to get the Glock like trigger with the better pull & reset that the DCAEK kit provides. However, the idea of needing to tweak the trigger turns me off that part of the idea at least. I'd rather have something that fits together perfectly.

    Then get the DCAEK kit. You will be very happy with it. If you like a more tactile, audible reset, you might want to check out the RAM.
