This works great. I have done it for many years. If you have an old film canister (i know these are not common now) this makes a great place to keep them together out of the way but able to find them fast when needing to get them out of your pack in a hurry.

As a Scout, we used egg cartons, lint, wax and sawdust. Cut the egg carton apart afterwords and light the cardboard as tender.

I think there's a lumber place locally I might hit up for some sawdust. I've been wanting to make some of these lately.
