My mother in law is slowing down. Moves faster at 85 than many I know much younger than that. More concerning is her falling. Once at home, once at our place.

Anyone have experience with Life Alert or similar services?

No tech is the main requirement.

My grandma used one in the late 90s that was simple and effective. She wore a button on a necklace AND they called via a speaker phone daily to check on her. I will be asking my dad what he got her.

Such a thing can kee her from assisted living for quite a while. She is in a retirement community where they keep an eye on each other. So falling is the big concern.

Share what to look for / avoid please.

    Thank you

I would suggest a conversation on when and how to use it. Most importantly to actually USE it when needed. Old people sometimes have too much pride to ask for help. “I’ll just lay here on the floor in pain and get up later when I feel better.” Sometimes minutes matter so make sure she knows to use it when needed.
