The 'NO WEAPONS PERMITTED (SEC 22-8)’ part of the sign needs to be removed. As of July 1st, 2011, Indiana Law under SB0292 prohibits municipalities from enforcing ordinances under potential penalty of lawsuit, from keeping weapons, ala firearms, out of city parks as well as most other publicly taxpayer funded places. I.E. the sign is invalid and could be construed as prohibiting the exercise of one’s civil rights. Therefore, the sign needs to be changed.
