As far as making it run cheap ammo, geesh guys, it's just a recoil spring change away. Not like a spring is a deal breaker for a decent gun.

So why doesn't Kimber put in the other/better spring? And what else would the change impact? They must have chosen the production spring for a reason.

And only 1 magazine comes with it?

I'm trying hard here... I really am very interested in it... but...

I dont like the fact that you have to use 124gr. ammo-I understand the reasoning, but as a defensive carry pistol it should be able to shoot everything. Now Ive seen the YouTube vid. of the guy shooting 115gr. with no issues....

but...thats not the case across the board. I think the jury is still out, there are alot of mixed reviews, and being the 1st gen. Im more inclined to wait til all the bugs have been worked out!

From See Detailed Specs on Kimber's New Solo Carry Models!

    It states

SOLO is designed to function optimally using factory-loaded premium hollow-point self-defense ammunition with bullet weights of 124gr or 147gr.
    Examples include:
    · Federal Hydra-Shok JHP
    · Remington Golden Saber HPJ
    · Hornady TAP JHP
While other ammunitions may perform well, lighter bullets and inconsistent pressures which can be found in lower quality ammunition may lead to decreased slide cycle time and result in feeding issues

But then goes on to state the following about the specific ammo recommendations which includes many more weights of bullet, etc.

    2. How accurate is SOLO and what caliber ammo does it shoot?
SOLO is exceptionally accurate. At 25 yards with premium ammunition and a solid rest, group sizes of 3 inches or less can be expected.
Kimber recommends 9mm LUGER (9×19) factory-fresh premium defense ammunition. You should find good results with the below mentioned ammo.

It looks nice but I will have to wait and see how it fits in my hand. I will also wait till they become more available and have the possibility of being on sale.

Midwest Gun and Range in Elkhart, IN now has one that you can rent and shoot. You can try before you buy. Well, lol... try before you wait to buy. Kimber is really struggling to keep up on production. You are probably looking at over a two month wait if you special order one.

I just can't get over the name "Kimber" It sounds like a brand of diapers they used to advertise when I was a kid -"Kimbies"

I call them the diaper guns.:):

No offense to any owners - they ARE very nice - I just hate the name.
