I've got a high spot in my hallway floor. I'm not sure if it corresponds to a floor joist or not. I also don't know if it's a warping issue or more likely a foundation problem. Who the heck do I even call for such a thing? What kind of contractor? Thanks.

I'd rather hire someone to go into the crawlspace, someone littler than me.
I think I've looked at it before years ago, and nothing looked out of the ordinary to me.

Now that I think about it, it's where two pieces of plywood come together on the floor joist. It's raised about 3/4" for about 3'.

Carpet? Pull it up and throw some three inch screws in it. Hopefully they will hit the joist and pull it down.

It's not loose at the spot though. I think it's already screwed down tight. I remember when I saw it when the carpet was installed.

Is there any water nearby? In the next room over maybe? Bathroom or laundry?

Is it just inside a door?

A lot of times if that just "pops up" it's due to moisture and swelling.

What part of the state are you in?
I do this kind of stuff on a daily basis.

It's just outside a doorway, bathroom and laundry down the hall, the pipes should be on the other side of the hallway, but don't know for sure. Indy.
