I've got a high spot in my hallway floor. I'm not sure if it corresponds to a floor joist or not. I also don't know if it's a warping issue or more likely a foundation problem. Who the heck do I even call for such a thing? What kind of contractor? Thanks.
Is there a ceiling under it you can look at? I'd be looking to eyeball underneath the floor you're looking at from above, whether that meant tearing out the ceiling in the floor below or just crawling into the crawl space.
I'd rather hire someone to go into the crawlspace, someone littler than me.
I think I've looked at it before years ago, and nothing looked out of the ordinary to me.
Now that I think about it, it's where two pieces of plywood come together on the floor joist. It's raised about 3/4" for about 3'.
