Shotgun my farthest was 55, no 40 ish, no maybe 60, well the final shot was under 20 ;)
Blasted a few while goose hunting, evidently my goose calling sounds like a diseased and dying flock.
Had them come in repeatedly over the years.
But the first was a run and gun, hop hot wires while reloading, empty out and repeat.
Amazingly I never dropped a shell or bobbled a load, was pretty impressive according to my hunting partner.
Did lose my hat though, which he brought up while laughing his arse off.
Said he never saw me move so fast (and I haven't since) ;)
He fired twice from his Citori magnum, I emptied my 1100 mag. So that was 5 shots right off the bat (as fast as we could shoot, he was out a ways). I then dumped 6 more in followup.

And they were all Bismuth #2's.

That was an expensive yote. And a little heavy considering it's size ;)

25 yards on the run (one and only handgun kill/shot on a yote).
Have taken the Python before (left the rifles at home) but nothing came in.
That was the first called in for my little cheap Johny Stewart call.
Good to 50 yards, maybe quite a bit farther (dunno, haven't shot that load past 50). I took my deer at just over 50 with that same gun/load.
'69 4 digit E series pop's gave me for my BD (I grew up shooting that gun).

Bullet clipped onside leg when up, took off back of heart and ripped a good hole on the offside- ruined my freakin' rug :(

I've gotten a couple questions about this thread -
YES, I like night hunting, as long as I can do it safely and know the area
My favorite rounds for coyotes are 243 and 223
and yes I still have the same flashlight setup as before. why change it if it works well?

One night, I took my little brother out hunting. We were sitting at the edge of a friend's cow pasture next to a woods. I'd told my little brother that if the dairy herd was near we'd have to go somewhere else, because the bull might come after us.

After we'd been there a while, I kept hearing something coming very slowly up behind us from the woods, but it didn't sound like either a fox or coyote. So, as we planned it, we turned and he was to click on the light while I held the gun. Before my little brother got the light up, a big whitetail buck snorted and thumped the ground with his feet, not 20 feet behind us. I swear, my little brother dropped the light and RAN for the fence. He thought it was that big bull.
