Homeowner had been robbed previously so he decided to install a surveillance system.

A shotgun would have been cheaper and far more effective at stopping the threat.

You guys are missing the point. We HAVE to have laws about keeping knives of all shapes and sizes required to be stored in safes. They're dangerous!!!

NO... Knives need be made of plastic, and not sharpened. There needs to be a 10 day waiting period, and background checks too.

But then he wouldn't get to watch himself get stabbed. Shotguns are so Neanderthal. Defending yourself with one sounds like something someone from Indiana would do, not a person from a civilized place like California.

Apparently Mr. Singh doesn't under the basic idea that video surveillance systems do not prevent anything. They can only (hopefully) help identify the scumbags after the tragic (perhaps fatal) events have transpired.

Proactive is always a better approach than reactive.

Then again, it's libtard California. IF one were callous and snarky, one could opine they're getting what they've asked (and voted) for.

In California they talk about the poor, unfortunate victim. In Indiana we talk about the poor, unfortunate criminal who brought a knife to a gun fight.

Shotguns are so Neanderthal, but in Indiana they are more common since we are the only state in the union that doesn't trust a man to hunt with a real rifle, unless you build a pistol and put a sig arm brace on it. Hey, I could use my new 300 whisper / blackout for home defense as well as deer hunting this year. If 30 rounds can take a deer down it should take down a few home invaders.

“I don’t know what to do,” Singh said. “You don’t feel safe in your own house.”

Here's a thought: Buy a gun and teach your family how to use it. Better yet, buy several so they can carry while at home. The sad fact is, human nature is not always good. The bad side exists everywhere and you need to have the means of defending yourself against if if you encounter it.
