I got my first Glock, a 19, in the later 80's from a shop in Muncie. I traded a 659 and walked out with a new gun and cash. It shot well, fed everything, takes apart to clean in seconds... and didn't really care if you cleaned it. it was half the weight to carry and I still have it... and the family grew and grew.

Someday a Turnbull 1911 will go in my old man belt... but it may have to be a retirement gift to myself.

I have two of them in my stable, courtesy of blue label pricing. I even carry them some. Thousands of rounds through them. Fairly inexpensive, accurate, and utterly stake your life on it dependable. Not my favorites, but if that was somehow all I had, I would be fine.

I don't like Glocks. But that's why I carry one typically. Because I don't care what happens to it. It can get beat up scuffed up and dirty and I don't care. They work and I shoot them well enough. I own other pistols but seem to always grab the G19 before I leave for work.

So what’s your preferred gun brand?

I don't think Glocks are special, but I do bet my life on them day in and day out, on duty and off. It will fire and it will hit where I aim it and If it gets damaged I’m not heart broken like one of my pretty guns.

What is so special about a Glock? They are ugly and made of plastic. So many of them for sale used. Don't shooters like them? If they are such a great gun and the savior of the shooting world, why are so many of them for sale on the INGO Marketplace?
I'm with you, I'm staying with my ole .45 1911

In 2023 Glock entered the personal collection.
    G21 and G22 gen5 MOS.
    My reasons were simple.
The CMMG Banshee use Glock 45ACP mags.
I carry an inherited FNP-40 but it was the only 40S&W in the collection. FNH doesn't make it any more and if it went down, all that pew-pew feed would go bad. ;)
Glock is simple, reliable and a wealth of aftermarket parts.
I just added the M&P2.0 10mm to the collection.
Could have gone G20 but 2 Glocks is enough

Glock is the AK of the Pistol World. Simple, dependable ,ugly and anyone can operate one ( yes fktrds are among us)
It's a tool , use it , abuse it. Ect more than likely it'll go bang .
