You guys have definitely convinced me to go with Henry. Now the issue is I want the golden boy haha. Might try and trade in my Keltec CP33 and Mossberg Patriot and see how close I can get.

When I worked in a shop, people would ask about the other cheaper brands (even Winchester) and I’d hand them the one they were asking about, I’d tell them to hold them up to their ear and cycle the action, it was always “thud, thud, thud” the actions were just soft, spongy, and not smooth or crisp.

But then I’d hand them the Henry, and the action was smooth, crisp and you could hear clicks instead of thuds…and that was when people said “I think I’ll take Henry instead!”

Honestly the only rimfire lever action I like more is the browning slr and the only reason is it’s a short throw and it cycles faster (but it costs more

Really appreciate everyone’s advice and feedback. Actually was out today at Walmart getting groceries and they had a golden boy. Now it’s on my wall. Can’t wait to shoot it!
Congratulations. I did the same thing a little over a year ago. Walked into the Walmart in Valparaiso on my lunch break to get a couple of items and left the store with a Henry Golden Boy instead.

I just bought a Henry Garden Gun a few months back and I love that thing.
It is an incredibly specialized firearm being a smooth bore, but I find uses for it nonetheless.
    Slug gun for hunting purposes?
Have you tried 410 rifled slugs in it?
If so what is the accuracy like?

All I see at the Aurora ChinaMart is the classic for $316.
What do they charge for the Golden Boy?

    It's a .22 smooth bore, so no, I haven't tried .410 slugs...
    I was thinking of this.
