Riverside County Sheriff has proven to be useless for over 4 decades. My dad owns a house there and I've lost count of the times that tenants have said they have had people enter the property, called 911 and sheriffs usually take over an hour or never showed at all. Once they showed up and broke down the neighbor's fence and front door when they got the address wrong.

First off, good on 93 year old Joe Teague for sending a home invader 60 years his junior to the hospital, and detaining the other criminals. Don't want to get shot? Don't invade homes.

Second, whoever family member Oscar Malma is, he needs to STFU. Seriously Oscar, STFU.

Third, thankfully this is not LA County, that POS Prosecutor they got would be holding old Joe in a gulag without bail.

I don't like the quote (from someone) "He took the law into his own hands..." That is NOT correct.

Defending ones property isn't reserved for the LEO's of any jurisdiction. Defending one's own property is exercising a natural right. Every living creature that has a home has right to try to keep others from entering their property. Whether it is a bird defending its nest, a turtle its mudhole, or human being protecting their domicile.

I cannot currently articulate well how "taking the law into your own hands" would look, this sure isn't it.

Regards and Happy 4th of July,

    Doug
