Why? Because that's what statists, control freaks, moral busybodies, and social engineers like to do.

I think it is hilarious when legal nannies think that they can banish the worlds oldest profession from existence. They think that society can't exist without the State injecting itself into every fathomable aspect of society.

I say legalize it in Indiana too. Get rid of the "vice squad" of police departments. Save taxpayers some money and the Nannies can learn to leave us alone.

I have never understood the people who argue the government has no control over women's bodies when it comes to abortion but are against prostitution. Leave the poor girls alone.

An owner of a NV brothel was on WLS this morning. He said the only counties Reid carried were Where Reno, Tahoe, and Vegas are. He figures since counties having brothels didn't vote for him, he would stick it to them. His mother used to do laundry for a brothel and Reid learned to swim in a brothel swimming pool.

have you ever been to Nevada? those are the only areas that actually have people living in them, besides the "bases" that don't officially exist. i drove from vegas to tahoe a few years back ant it is a waste land in between filled with all kinds of creepy little ghost towns.

if these politicians would lift the laws banning prostitution then they wouldn't have to worry about all problems it causes when they get caught sleeping with hookers. win win

Like any good Democrat, he hates to see someone doing honest work.

Well, it's not really that they hate to see honest work, it's just that people who do honest work are...kind of suspect. You see, if they keep doing that, pretty soon they're likely to vote more conservative.

It reminds me of a scene in the show, West Wing. I loved that show, even though it was so biased. What was fascinating is how powerful the arguments for freedom are. Even though the show constantly erected and destroyed straw men, even though they often put good arguments in the mouths of idiots, the strength of the arguments came through.

This particular scene, Sam, played by Rob Lowe, is considering recommending raising poverty level number. They are discussing the political ramifications. Someone facetiously suggests just raising the poverty line to the point where no one could actually be called "poor."

    Someone, Sam I think, said:

"No, then they'd all vote Republican."

Where are all the nannies?? Doesn't anyone agree with our current prostitution laws??

Those who oppose your point of view recognize that no amount of reason or logic will change the views of those who have already posted on this thread. It would an exercise in futility.

I disagree with the point of view expressed here, but I am not going to argue the point—or intrude on your fun again. ;)
