They are dual band handhelds that are dirt cheap. Reviews are good. Not my first line gear, but good for handing out to the family in an emergency. They are open, so you have to be careful you do not transmit on a Freq not allowed by law.

I have 4 radios that do everything that this one will
It was my Father-in-laws and has less than 30 hours total on it
I also have a few 2 meter, 6 meter and 440 mobiles
No hand helds though sorry

Ranger -- The Indy Hamfest (http://www.indyhamfest.com/SHOW_MAILER.pdf) is next Saturday (10th) at Camp Sertoma, at the corner of US-53 and German Church Road. This is the largest hamfest in the Indianapols area. Can normally find some good deals.
If you can still find them, the Icom IC-V8 is about $90 (new), but 2-meters only. BUT.. a very good and tough H/T.
