LOL, even surplus ammo cans are overpriced at Gander.

I was there Saturday... they must have gotten the ugliest ones available.

Nah, I'll wait for the 1500, thanks. :)

Haven't checked my gander this time, but last time they all looked like crap. 6 bucks for primo cans isn't too much IMO. These cans should been crushed and recycled. I wouldn't have given 2 bucks for them.

terre haute GM had the same thing, and they were almost sold out in a week.

Now the question: where they heck do they come from? virtually every one I looked at has sand in it, or on it. One had 2" of water in the bottom. The sand makes me wonder if they come from Iraq or something?

I wonder if ammo cans are like magazines in the eyes of the military: disposable items?

I picked a few up a couple of months ago, great condition from Gander. Pricing was a little high, but I am not paying entry fee or shipping, so for the amount I wanted, it was okay.

I picked up three in Castleton and other than being dirty they were in fine shape, air tight seal and no dings and dents. And like Repair said
Besides I want to store ammo in them not make love to them......
